Recognising Opportunities and Risks in the Agricultural and Food Markets

Agroscope evaluates the economic impacts of existing and planned free-trade agreements on the Swiss agricultural sector. For this analysis, Agroscope uses the internationally recognised Model CAPRI – developed by the University of Bonn and adapted by Agroscope so as to take appropriate account of Swiss conditions.

Against a backdrop of increasing market liberalisation, Agroscope also analyses how developments on foreign markets make their mark on domestic markets too, and charts the changing competitiveness of Swiss agricultural products. In doing this, Agroscope provides policy-makers with an independent and scientifically sound basis for making informed decisions on how to shape Swiss trade- and agricultural policy.
