Evaluating Field-Crop Varieties by means of Digital Tools

18.03.12.02.03 variétés de grande culture

Variety studies aim to identify the best varieties (in terms of quality, disease resistance, productivity, adaptation to climate and resistance to stress) to allow us to supply practical recommendations to agricultural professionals and adapt the Ordinance on seeds and plants, which regulates the production and inspection of seed. Digital, molecular and phenotyping tools (cameras, drones, robots) are now available to characterise the limiting factors of the environment and the adaptability of the varieties. The aims of the project are to adapt the Ordinance on Seeds and Plants, and to develop phenotyping tools, models and algorithms in order to understand the response of the different varieties to the environment.
