Optimisation of Growing Methods for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants

Systèmes de grande culture durables et résilients

Swiss soft-fruit production has been steadily increasing in recent years. Advances in cultivation techniques have made a major contribution to this trend, as has the improvement in the quality of the fruit. To meet the various challenges of the future, production techniques must be optimised to allow a better response to consumer and producer demands as well as to sustainability criteria.

New approaches are developed and tested to reduce residues on fruits, improve taste and nutritional quality, and increase the diversity of the berries. Moreover, optimisation of production techniques will improve the profitability of the crops (picking speed) as well as resource efficiency (water, nutrients, energy) whilst taking climate change into consideration.
